This aint ryt

M not a blind supporter of Chetan Bhagat, nor m i a critic of Aamir Khan but the recent press statement given by the perfectionist actor provokes thought. In a recent press interview he claimed that " 3 IDIOTS" (his latest movie which is presently breakin all records at the box office,n which created a hype ever since its maker conceived of it), is not inspired in any way by Mr.Bhagat's bestseller FIVE POINT SOMEONE .

Yeah,3 IDIOTS is different from 5 POINT SOMEONE.But in my view it is very conspicuous that it is inspired from the novel. The idea of an esteemed engineering college(Boman Irani receives the new batch by informing them that out of 4 lakh aspirants ,they are the select few who have made it to this institute ,their number being less than 1% of the total no. of aspirants)is analogus to Mr. Bhagat's story which begins at IIT DELHI.Then comes the mass interaction with the seniors, all who have read the novel would agree that this was the depiction of what's written in it,except for the way in which the hero deals with his seniors. In the novel,he thrashes them out ,in the movie he uses his scientific instincts to deal with the problem.A great similarity that exists between both these characters is their attitude to life.In the movie,Rancho strives for knowledge,he doesn't approve of the system,he openly defies it and believes in living in the present, his friends mean a lot to him and he goes to great lengths to help them.In the novel...RYAN despises the system and makes no effort to conceal this,he also strives for knowledge and excellence, and has a scientific aptitude.Ryan's life is dedicated to his friends...nothing is dearer to him......in this context I would like to remind Mr. Khan that the tale of Rancho's friend Raju and Ryan's friend ALOK is identical.the only dissimilarity being in their physical appearance, and for that I think one plausible reason could have been the director's reluctance in projecting an obese guy in a major role,as it obviously reduces the star studedness of the movie.

Yeah there are differences too...like the girl goes to Rancho this time than Farhan ,but again the girl being the HOD's daughter, surely this is not a coincidence. Also the the sneakin of the idiots into the prof's office for stealing the question paper and the saga of the prof's son all have been taken from the novel itself. There are bulging disparities as well ...the biggest being the message of the fiction.the cinema conveys the idea that u shud stick to ur convictions, and challenge the system wid them ,on the other hand Mr.Bhagat gives a more realistic picture,he makes us acknowledge the undesirable outcomes that such audacious actions may lead to,coz at the climax of the novel it's ryan who ends up with a job much inferior to that of his friends(several of you may oppose this, but that's what ryan feels in the end)

All i want Mr. Aamir Khan and his team to consider is the meaning of the word INSPIRED or INFLUENCED. Surely i hold no authority over the bollywood biggies but then Mr. Khan , there's no way you and your team can deny that this story of yours wasn't influenced or to put in a better word INSPIRED. Also you should not forget that the association of ur movie to the bestseller fiction helped tremendously in rousing the frenzy .What disappoints me more is the timing of your statement .Had u come up wid dis before the release of your movie,I would have for once thought of it as too coincidental a concurrence, but now after the assurance of the astounding success of ur endeavour, dis statement of urs makes it seem more like plagiarism

hello world....
m n indian, and m proud to be one. INDIA is an enigma,it is a motley collection of cultures, languages ,religions and what not. The diversity that this country posesses makes it an accomplishment in itself. I believe that a lifetime is too short a time to unravel the mystery called INDIA. The more you delve into it ,the more you get fascinated by it. No matter what your field of study may be ,it is hard to believe that it is not mentioned anywhere in the vast amount of literature this country posesses. The question which arises is:
Why do we take the knowledge provided by our ancestors, which has been preserved for centuries ...as completely senseless??why a good number of us do not hesitate to make a mockery of our ancient beliefs and traditions??

I do not profess that we should accept the old rules and follow them completely...no i would not advocate that ,but atleast we can initiate a thought process as to if a certain claim is made ,what could have been the reasons behind it???what could have caused the writer to arrive at a particular conclusion...

As science is progressing,we many a times discover that our ancient beliefs and practices have been proven to be correct for ex: Today, the essence of YOGA is recognised the world over .You never know this may give a much needed impulse to the ongoing research concerning various phenomena.

OLD MAY NOT ALWAYS BE GOLD BUT AT TIMES IT CAN BE EVEN MORE WORTHWILE...
