I started watching football at the tender age of 14.It all began with the 2002 world cup. My family watched the game with much zeal and ardour but i could not figure out that when India's not playing.,why is everyone head over heels in love with this game. With time I realized that if my own nation is not playing atleast I can watch the matches with an unbiased perspective of a sports enthusiast, than being influenced by patriotic feelings...and it was at this pooint that I started following the game.In no time I became a fan of DAVID BECKHAM..to the extent that I began cheering for the English team even when i liked only Mr.Beckham in the whole squad.I still remember the quarter final match between England and Brazil in which I went against my entire family to support the britons, and I can still recall my disappointment after the match. It was the first time that I showed my iconoclastic capabilities and i could not bear it all going in vain.It was this match that made me a bit hostile towards the brazilians and I decided never to support them in the future.
But can any football freak ignore the magic of brazil???the answer is NO,and this was precisely what happened to me. I continued viewing the matches and BRAZIL continued moving more and more towards the cup.By the time they reached the finals,I was forced to change my opinion of them.Their game won me over and I felt that not supporting them would be an injustice to football.
11 men ...........calm and composed...running through the grounds to get hold of that 1 ball....a ball that could change their destiny...a ball that could bestow on them limitless glory...a ball that could end their career forever...but these 11 men in yellow seem oblivious to these facts. What are they doing??? they are simply enjoying the game...fiddling with the ball, tossing it up, moving it down. They laugh when they miss out a shot on the goal ....and they are equally at ease when they score one. They seem to be untouched by the pressures of the sport. They don't care if the opposite team trips them or hurts them...no.. they are too immersed in their game to observe all this..They dont fight for CORNERS,PENALTIES and strokes, they know they won't relish these..because it makes it all too simple...they score field goals.which are their passion.
This is the BRAZILIAN team which won the world cup in 2002.This spirit of theirs got them 5 cups so far and it is this spirit which makes them the most popular team in the world..and this made me recognize the essence of football with the BRAZILIANS....and I have remained a faithful fan of this team ever since.....
This charisma was not quite visible in most of the matches of the 2010 world cup. However it came out in traces in the match against SLOVAKIA.Now the team is no longer in the race for the cup....and the expectations which rose after its match with slovakia can no longer be fulfilled.... and this is what replaces the zest with a void....
World champians or not BRAZIL continues to rule my heart...

life is a curve
yup........it is as simple as that.Several theories have been propounded about life."Life's a race" .. say some,"It's a fruit to be relished" say others but ...i find it .......just a curve....which keeps changing its shape, and thus the equations which govern it.
Our childhood is like a parabola ...(y*y= 4*a*x), because in childhood we keep looking upwards towards a bright and a fulfilling future which is very much like the trajectory of the above curve near the origin. At that time we are not able to see any boundaries and obstructions to our dreams. We believe that we can achieve anything we aspire for.It is a period of boundless imagination just like the parabola above which has no limits.
Then when we reach adulthood , we find ourselves mature enough to visualize our limitations. At that time life appears like an ellipse,in which one of the diameters has become fixed because of the decisions taken earlier...but we keep struggling and racing to make the other diameter as large as poosible..,we are not content with the area that we have already congregated and keep vying for more.At this time the curve is under a lot of external influences, which keep determining its other..or rather the flexible diameter..
In the end, when this race ends and we get the time for contemplation and speculation, life seems to be a full circle. The journey may have transformed us materially , but spiritually, intrinsically and emotionally we find ourselves still the same.At times we did seek the favor of appearances but they were transitory changes...accepted only for ease, and in most of the cases these transitions are regretted. Finally we realize the importance of SELF and admonish ourselves for giving it up whensoever the circumstances demanded. We realize that our own actions shape our destiny and not the vice versa..
In the end the only message I want to convey is "Live life to the fullest.Every moment is meant to be enjoyed."It has its own complications, because after all its a curve and so u need to keep changing your direction at every point to travel on it.....but changes should be welcome, and the symmetry of this ever changing curve should be appreciated ...

SOME THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT UNSPOKEN
I am not a preacher, nor am I a person who delves in philosphy , but this post is just a miniscule attempt on my side to express my perspective of the tiny problems which haunt and many a times aggrieve us everyday in our daily lives.Once again I would like to clear that this post only refers to the frivolous things which we find undesirable and which nag us perenially. The scope of these trivialities seems infinitely large and their variety is immeasurable, but they are omnipresent and whether you accept it or not ,have an effect on our psyche.
It is said that when trouble troubles you ,it is best that you share ur feelings with someone. It is said that venting out ur frustations is the best remedy for such worries.I accept that I am no authority to question this claim of hundreds of scholars of psycology, but as an inquisitive person I cant help but think that such a measure may have contrary effects..
There exists a myriad variety of homosapiens around us ,each with a different mindset, and thus we receive all kinds of reaction from people. When u start sharing ur worries with others, the sensitive and sympathetic souls around you will keep asking you at short intervals..."R U OK BUDDY???".........or ."I hope u rnt still thinking of it"........etc. etc. These people unintentionally but continuosly remind u of the things that disturb u, in my opinion that is not a help in any manner.Coming to the other kind of souls whose reply would consist of statements like. "Hey take it easy buddy...........you will do well next time", or "There are still hundreds of avenues left for u "(I am not condeming those who actually suggest feasible solutions....but then they comprise the minority)the majority is made of people who are content with the above statements only.........what avenues they are referring to are unknown to them (or they give highly unpragmatic solutions) ........and then on further interrogation several of them start citing themselves as examples, being totally blind to the fact that the circumstances confronting each person are different and thus their solution might be totally irrelevant to the person who is suffering. And then how can I forget the everpresent and the everhurting sadists. These people will leave aside tasks of immediate concern to them, and will devote their full time and energy into making things all the more difficult for you. With their words, they will do their best to augment your pain and strain.
I believe it is better sometims to remain silent and work towards relaxing yourself internally. We are the ultimate masters of ourselves and though it may take time but such silence will save us from the hundreds of complexities which might otherwise arise.Silence appears to be the bitter pill ,but then as long as it delivers results,it is the best pill.

HEIGHTS OF IMPUDENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!
hello all!!!!!!
The demeanour of the Australian Government with respect to the racist killings taking place time and again in their country only provides evidence to the fact that for them globalization is a big farce.Every day the newspapers are full of varied accounts of Indians being assaulted in Australia.Still I marvel at the snubbiness of these aussies, when they say that Indians are safer in Australia than in their own country,i am astonished when they brush aside these incidents as meagre university fights ,ignoring the racial factor which is so conspicuous and prevalent in each of these calamities. If these were indeed just university fights,or normal quarrels as they say, then why are a particular set of individuals belonging to a specific community being targeted everytime???????are other communities completely alien to these sort of tensions?????Is it that Indians are the only foreign students in Australian universities??????The answer is NO,and it is high time the australian administrators realized that their petty excuses are only exposing their compliance with the malicious deeds of the locales. It just shows that the aussies are a group of hot headed individuals unable to compete in a progressive and healthy manner(I hold no prejudice, but the recent activites compel me to state this).A recent research by a BBC Magazine show suggests that the aussies are the most sinful people on earth, with envy being their greatest vice(follow the link:-
for more details) and indeed the study reveals itself to be true when the treatment meted out to the Indians in Australia is speculated.
If I am condemning the aussie authorities,my indignation at the Indian authorities is no less. The Indian government is doing nothing other than passing promising statements and being mute spectators of the show(a few fruitless trips being also considered). The External Affairs Minister has illustrated himself as a weakling who is only good at publicly reprimanding his minions. If the Government Of India accuses the Government Of Australia for inaction,I ask them what have you done to ensure that such actions don't get repeated.I would like to bring to the attention of the Prime Minister that the security of the Indians in all parts of the world is a matter whose importance cannot be overstated,so I would request him to focus his limited stock of energy towards this issue rather than imparting voting rights to the PRAVASI BHARTIYA,a notion that can be contemplated later.
I plead the politicos to get out of their VOTE BANK MENTALITY for once and adopt a stringent strategy to ensure the happiness and well-being of our people.

ACCEPT
Hi frndz!!!!!!!!!!!
Now honourable minister of state for external affairs Mr. Shashi Tharoor definitely has a knack for being in the public eye.Well this is a different matter and I do not wish to comment upon this ,but I would surely like to advise the CONGRESS PARTY to be a little more accomodative. The Congress leadership, has seen generations of sycophants doting around them and they are well accustomed to this sort of politics. But why do the self proclaimed leaders of change hesitate when it comes to altering their own perceptions???This time Mr. Tharoor is in the limelight for pointing a finger at the Nehruvian Foreign Policy. NEHRU ,the father figure of the party ,and Tharoor ,just an MP and a minister. But surely Mr. Tharoor can exercise his right to freedom of expression since he is an INDIAN before being a congressman and a minister. When you talk of principles , when u never resist to boast that ur party has leaders of conscience ,then why do u reprimand them whenever they publicize their opinion. How do u xpect to run a democracy when u arent willing to pay heed to the dissenting elements of ur own house. The party never ceases to declare that democracy is not only about majority but also about the proper recognition and welfare of the minority.Mr. Nehru is a revered figure for a majority of the leaders but why dont these leaders first ask Tharoor for his clarification instead of indignating the poor fellow to such an extent that in the very next press statement he disowns everything that he has said.Leaders should be broad minded ,this is what the congress brags about,it openly criticizes the narrow minded zealots but isnt BLIND WORSHIP OF MR. NEHRU by the congressmen a supreme example of petty mindedness???If I were to go by the preachings of the party I should be ready to accept the myriad of opinions on the various party policies and I should be glad to have such people who question and offer alternatives .
This only proves the age old adage that it is much easier to preach than to practice.

IT'S TIME WE WOKE UP
HELLO WORLD
The year 2009 just passed off.,and as usual our media reminded us of all the significant events of that year before we bade the final goodbye. This has become a sort of tradition, which gets iterated at the end of every year but do we ever contemplate what tacit lessons have been taught to us by the year that has just ended...
Take for instance the 26/11 case, it is a blot on the glorious history of our country. But tell me what have we done to ascertain that such events do not occur in the future???The intelligentsia is never behind in criticising and blaming the government and I am in accord with them on the matter. But I ask the common citizens of this country, i question the ever lamenting and complaining AAM AADMI ..What have you done when the onus came on your shoulders,I am referring to the MAHARASHTRA STATE ASSEMBLY elections in which the voter turnout in MUMBAI was a meagre
55%. It was not long ago that the residents of MUMBAI came on the streets denouncing the administrative structure and demanding the rights which they aptly deserve, being citizens of the great democracy called INDIA. Where did the vigor, the passion and the awakening disappear when the right time arrived??? I do not catechize the verdict but i urge my fellow INDIANS to play an active role when it comes to matters concerning our nation, because eventually the outcome influences our personal lives deeply. To the greatest egoist I say this: you may be incapable of conceiving the manner in which the politics of your country can affect your life, but the laws that are formulated as a result of this politics are always capable of conceiving you and taking you in their strangehold to alter your life in an unthinkable manner.
In another instance, I recently happened to watch a musical reality show on one of the most popular channels of the country, and i was shocked to find one of the members of the jury,a public figure, openly flaunting the superiority of his particular community in the endeavour. Why is the media quiet???The media has no hesitation in broadcasting the frivolous tours of some popular figures for 12 hours a day, then why are they tentative in opposing this ????Time and again we have seen reality shows inciting the regionistic fervour only for their selfish gains, why have we kept silent for so long???When the administration has the guts to abuse the entertainment industry of CHILD LABOUR, where do all those prying eyes disappear when it comes to matters like these??? Isn't it another incidence of rabble rousing ???especially when such words and actions are encouraged by those who are emulated by millions in this nation.
I urge the youth which forms about 70% of the population of our country to ensure that such events are curbed, that the right to freedom of expression does not become another tool in the hands of such petty minded,self-centered individualists.I request the people to raise their voice against this injustice, which if not dealt with in the right manner and at the right time may lead to undesirable consequences in the future.
